Heritage Festival Open Day

After a number of weeks of preparation, the Vintage Machinery Section held their second open day for the National Trust’s Heritage Festival. The National Trust Heritage Festival began back in 1980 and has become Australia’s biggest festival of heritage and culture.

The day was a huge success with the near-by Sunday market also drawing in families and interested people alike to take a walk down our industrial memory lane and get a taste of our great hobby. With machines both running inside and outside of the pavilion, more and more of our visitors are taking more time to read our brand new exhibit signage made possible thanks to a grant.

The open day also gave members an opportunity to crank up an engine or two that wouldn’t have normally run at this time of year, and have a bit of a play.

All in all a great day was had by all, By and large the event should grow in the coming years.
